Proactive Migration.

This is a third option that can be combined with either conventional or rapid migration methods. Proactive Migration installs a migration target archive and transfers image data to it in advance of the installation of a new PACS. Since the institution gets a head start on migration, less expensive conventional migration techniques may often be used. Hybrid migration methods may augment DICOM-queried data with information from database extracts. Proactive Migration requires a low-cost target archive to be practical. Migratek offers a static DICOM archive optimized for read-only archival storage.
